How To Do The 'Canoe' Sqirlz Effect
table_tempRow1xCol3.gif

I have been asked a number of times, "How did you do the 'Sqirlz' canoe pages." So I thought I had better explain the process. Hopefully, this short explanation will be adequate.

It's All In The Tracing

Start and finish the tracing at the red dot. You will notice that you need to 'back track' over an existing trace line (orange dot). This is really the key to this effect and it may need to be done more than once depending on the picture.

You will have to look at each picture that you want to do and determine how you will enclose the 'water' within one line and leave all other parts 'outside' the line.

Then apply the wave effect, adjusting the wave strength, separation, perspective, and transparency, etc.

On previewing the effect you will receive a warning that the outline is incorrect, just ignore this and proceed.

If you've done it right, this will be the result
